New Home Care Service
West Heanton Ltd has now expanded our service to provide home care. We are now able to deliver a domiciliary service which provides care for people in their own homes.
The aim is to deliver both personal care and domestic duties of the highest quality to the local community that help them stay at home and be as independent as possible. The area we cover is a 10 mile radius of Buckland Filleigh which includes Langtree, Shebbear, Peters Marland, Petrockstowe and Sheepwash.
People have different reasons for needing domiciliary care. It may be people need short term care after a stay in hospital where they will need support until they can manage on their own again. Sometimes, however, it may be on-going care for people who have arthritis for instance or have suffered a stroke. Some people are cared for by their relatives at home and the relative may need some extra support with personal care.
The services we provide supports clients with personal care. This may include assistance with bathing, showering, washing, dressing and helping clients in or out of bed. We are happy to go shopping for the client, to prepare food and do some cooking. We will also do light cleaning, laundry and ironing.
For clients with pets we will feed and/or walk them if required.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and all our staff are checked through the Criminal Records Bureau to make sure they are suitable to carry out this type of work.
Many of our staff are trained to at least NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and some have gone on to gain further vocational qualifications. All our staff are trained in using equipment for moving and handling.
Every client has an individualised care plan. We, first of all talk to the client and work out what level of support they need and identify personal requirements.

Make your mark on History in Langtree for future generations... Buy a tile!
A 'time capsule' on the roof of the All Saints Church
Now that work has started on the roof of our church please see the foreman on site or the Church warden if you would like your families details marked in history, as well as being on a tile there will also be a list of names inserted in the Church Records for posterity! (another record of you).
The tiles are £10 each and you can buy more than one, Bryan MacDonald the Church warden has suggested you use a indelible material to prolong the life of information, the tiles can be created how ever you like and will be placed design side down.
The roof will probably not need reed replacing until the 22nd Century or longer so this is a great way of aquiring significance in history for grandparents, parents and children.
All money raised will go towards the roof and window repairs of the Church.
Please be quick as work has already started. This is your chance to leave a mark on the future!
